Safe Kids coalitions in the United States host safety events, conduct workshops in everything from schools to hospitals, advocate for effective legislation, and distribute safety devises such as car seats, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, helmets, and personal floatation devises. Parents, caregivers and children are taught how to use these important resources correctly.
Safe Kids Illinois is led by Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, which provides dedicated and caring staff, operation support and other resources to assist in achieving our common goal: keeping kids safe. Based on the needs of the community, this coalition implements evidence-based programs, such as car-seat checkups, safety workshops and sports clinics, that help parents and caregivers prevent childhood injuries.
Safe Kids has locations in Adams, Cook, Edwards, Macoupin, Peoria, Wayne, White, and Winnebago Counties
