Saturday, February 22, 2020 8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Springfield Southeast High School 2350 East Ash Street Springfield, IL

KICK-OFF MESSAGE PRESENTED BY: Terrance Jordan has worked in Springfield Public Schools for the past 17 years. He has held a variety of positions which include teaching assistant, librarian, parent educator, teacher, dean and now principal. He is currently Principal of Black Hawk Elementary School where he continues to encourage and engage with students, teachers and families. While at Black Hawk, his main focus is to create a family culture. Under his leadership, Black Hawk has adopted the motto “We are Family” and he works hard to instill family values in both staff and students. Terrance also works to make sure that every student has an adult they can trust which has led to the creation of several mentoring programs within Black Hawk Elementary School. Over the past 6 years as principal, Terrance has been able to grow community partnerships and mentors at Black Hawk through his work in the community.

Terrance will be sharing his road to success and how involved adults are one of the primary reasons he was able to overcome the many obstacles he faced in life.
