Please join us, as Center for Practice Excellence presents INTELLECTUAL & DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES and ANXIETY  – a workshop with Linda Sandman, MSW, LCSW

TUESDAY, MARCH 12, 2019: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Registration and coffee service at 8:30 am.

Jewish Child & Family Services, Cooper Center, 6639 N. Kedzie Avenue, Chicago

About the Program:  It is estimated that 19% of the general population is affected by an anxiety disorder in their lifetime, yet the estimates for individuals with I/DD are exponentially higher. Through a robust discussion of anxiety and I/DD in adults, this workshop is designed to assist the clinician in the identification of anxiety, the evaluation of available interventions, and the review of practical strategies for addressing anxiety symptoms. This will be an interactive presentation, including the use of small groups and case studies to offer clinicians a hands-on opportunity to increase their understanding and formulation of treatment approaches for this very important population.

About the Presenter:  Linda Sandman has over 30 years of clinical experience working with adults with disabilities, including mental health and intellectual and developmental disabilities. She is an experienced trainer and consultant to agencies and organizations working with people with disabilities. Linda is currently Co-Director of Blue Tower Solutions, Inc., an organization dedicated to empowering individuals, organizations and systems to create cultures of respect, inclusion, dignity and equality for people with disabilities.

3.0 hours CEU’s to be awarded  — $40 fee for non-agency participants
