American Blues Theater will give a Relaxed/Sensory Friendly performance of It’s a Wonderful Life: Live in Chicago! on Sunday, December 1, at 2:30pm. For 18 years, American Blues has treated generations of audiences to this beautiful 1940s radio show. This year we hope to make it easier for more families to enjoy this holiday tradition. The special Relaxed/Sensory Friendly performance will provide a safe and welcoming environment to those who may need a gentler, less structured theater experience.

The performance will have a few technical modifications, including a reduction in sound levels and lighting that does not ever go completely dark. Patron movements, sounds, or behaviors related to differing cognitive/developmental abilities will be expected and met with understanding from the cast, theater staff, and other audience members. Families are invited to bring any supportive fidget devices or sound reduction equipment that will make their theater experiences even more comfortable. This judgment-free environment also welcomes people to move freely in and out of the theater as needed throughout the performance.

The price for this special performance is $25 per ticket with the code ACCESS. It is open to all who would benefit from a Relaxed/Sensory Friendly theater experience and their companions. Tickets are available online at www.AmericanBluesTheater.com, or by calling the American Blues box office, 773-654-3103.
