Join us as we celebrate Starnet’s 20th annual Summer Camp for Early Childhood Educators! Summer Camp is an opportunity for you to invest in your personal and professional growth as you network with colleagues, attend engaging workshops, and participate in fun activities in a relaxing camp-like atmosphere! This year’s focus will be on language and literacy for ALL children. Interactive sessions will cover storytelling, choosing quality children’s books, Sign Language, Dual Language Learners, and interactions with higher-level questioning. Please bring a copy of your favorite children’s book to share! T-shirts commemorating Starnet’s 20th year of Summer Camp will be available – details about design and price will come by email about three weeks prior.
Accommodations: The relaxing Villa Maria Retreat Center (http://villa.dio.org) has a limited number of sleeping rooms. Campers will be asked to share a room, so please let us know if you have a preferred roommate. The cost for a double room is $28.25 plus tax/per person/per night. Villa rooms can be reserved for Wednesday night for those wishing to stay the night between the two days of the training. Villa rooms can also be reserved for Tuesday night for those wishing to come earlier and stay the night before camp begins – dinner would be on your own Tuesday and check-in would be from 6-9pm. Food: Only those staying over at the Villa on Tuesday night will be provided breakfast on Wednesday morning. All registrants will be provided with lunch on Wednesday. Wednesday evening from 6-7pm, Starnet will host an optional cookout (no cost to you) on the back patio at the Villa Maria Retreat Center. Please let us know if you plan to attend this optional dinner by adding a note in the special accommodations field of your registration form or by calling (800) 227-7537. All participants will be provided with breakfast and lunch on Thursday.
