This two day leadership conference offers information to everyone ranging from executives to parents/self-advocates. 9:15 – 9:30 a.m.Good Morning! Meg Cooch, Executive Director, The Arc of Illinois

Meg will review the objectives of the conference and give updates on State and National Affairs.

9:30- 10:15 a.m. – “Division of Rehabilitation Services Strategic Direction”

Presented by Director Rahnee Patrick, Division of Rehabilitation Services

Director Patrick will talk about DRS’ strategic direction, the steps the Division is taking to improve  employment services for people with I/DD and strengthen partnerships with community providers.

10:15- 11:15 a.m. – “Transformation in Employment: Supported Employment,                                                           Subminimum Wage and Community Trends”

                       Presented by Director Patrick, a Self-Advocate and Providers

A panel of the Director of DRS, a self-advocate and providers will talk about the opportunities and        challenges with transforming the current employment and community day systems to address federal and state employment priorities.

11:15 – 11:30 a.m. –  Break

11:30 – 12:30 p.m. – “Achieving Transformational Change”

              Presented by Lisa M. Dietlin

                Presented by Secretary Grace Hou, Department of Human Services

Secretary Hou will discuss the exciting new priorities and activities of the Illinois Department of Human Services including her vision for working with community organizations and funding for critical  services.

2:00 –3:15 p.m. – “Opportunities for Growth and Innovation”

                                 Presented by a Panel

Learn about new and different opportunities in the state for growth and innovation including the new bill expanding 377 boards, new funding opportunities through the IL Council on Developmental       Disabilities, IFF funding, assistive technology pilot and self-advocacy innovations.

3:15 – 3:30 p.m. –  Break

3:30 – 4:15 p.m. – “Division of Developmental Disabilities Priorities”

            Presented by Allison Stark, Director, Division  of Developmental Disabilities, DHS

Director Stark will talk about  the key priorities of the Division as well as hot topics regarding the rates oversight committee, supported employment learning network and more.

4:15 – 5:00 p.m. – “Ligas Consent Decree Update”

             Presented by Ronnie Cohn, Ligas Court Monitor

Ligas Court Monitor, Ronnie Cohn, will discuss her findings around the Ligas Class Member quality reviews and the perspective of the state’s compliance related to rates, staffing and investment.

5:00 – 5:45 p.m. – “Hospitality”

12:15 – 1:30 p.m. – Luncheon:  “Healthcare and Family Services’ Medicaid Priorities”

      Presented by Theresa Eagleson, Director, Department of Healthcare and Family Services

Director Eagleson will share her vision for HFS and HFS priorities around Medicaid including waiver services.

1:30 – 2:45 p.m. –   “Breaking Down Divides: I/DD and Mental Health”

Learn from a panel of providers who will discuss how they are harnessing funding through the behavioral health/mental health in order to support people with I/DD in different ways.
