Statewide Information Resource & Referral for Advocacy & Service for People with Developmental Disabilities

Advocacy Support Groups

Support groups are created when people get together to network and share ideas about how to make life better for themselves or loved ones who have a disability. Some support groups are formed based on a common issue or goal. Other groups develop around a specific disability, like Down syndrome or Autism. There are also groups that serve siblings or self-advocates.┬áIllinois has an active SIBS – Supporting Illinois Brothers and Sisters group.
